PURPOSE:

To recognize faculty and staff members who have given long service to the University.

THE AWARD:

The award shall be an official Penn State captain's chair or rocking chair. The employee shall also receive a personalized certificate commemorating the milestone.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE AWARD:

All members of the faculty and staff who complete twenty-five years of full-time University employment are eligible.

Time spent on an approved University leave of absence whether paid or unpaid shall be considered active employment for the purposes of the award.

AWARD PROGRAM OVERSIGHT:

Human Resources is responsible for oversight of the award program and maintains a list of employees eligible to receive the award.

NOTE: The eligibility criteria outlined in this policy apply to 25 year awards only. Please see HR54 for information regarding retirement eligibility.
