To outline the procedure and responsibility for the preparation of position descriptions and for the determination of the classification category for each University position except those classified as academic.
The responsibility for the determination of the classification for University employees rests with the Employment and Compensation Division.
This Division has the responsibility for assigning positions to all classifications except academic, and for assisting Deans and Administrative Officers in developing adequate descriptions of all positions except academic.
When considering the creation of a new position, or the review of an existing position, the Dean or his/her Personnel Representative shall contact the Manager of Employment and Compensation Division, who will assist in the preparation of a position description and in determining the correct classification.
